5 Tips to a Simple Social Media Strategy. Here is your simple guide to help you be consistent.

I’m sure you have had meetings with your office and talked about getting on track with a social media plan and being consistent about it. Let’s face it we have a billion things on our to do list and majority of the time we focus on the urgent to-do items first. Weeks and weeks pass and oops!  We missed our opportunity to keeping our communities connected and updated with us. Facebook has about 2 billion monthly active users and Instagram has about 800 million monthly active users.  We can’t afford to miss out connecting with potential clients through these platforms. We have some quick points to keep you on track.

  1. Decide what social media platforms you are going to focus on.
Don’t try to do them all as it can get very overwhelming.  It’s better to be consistent. If you are keeping track of too many platforms you will miss something or not reply to someone that is trying to get a hold of you. Decide which platform your clients use the most and this just really depends. The most popular are Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat. Many people just start with Instagram and Facebook to keep it simple.
  2. How often will you post?
Decide how often you will post and take into consideration if you have front desk staff, service providers etc. If you can do 1 or 2 times a week just be consistent with what you do. Having staff that can help with this will help with how often you will post.
  3. What to post
Be human and have a personality when you post. What is the personality of the company? Sit down and decide what tone you want to have. Do you want to have a sense of humor, be quirky, fun, serious etc. Remember, it is not all about sales. Some of our best posts are just silly or fun. What would your community like to see or read about.

Put this in a spreadsheet or in writing. It is so easy to say you’re going to start this amazing social marketing plan and then months later nothing happens. Write the topics, date you want to publish, and have a check box for when it is completed.
